Perspective
Lidia Vasquez
If you observe, closely the image I have created, there are different perspectives and dimensions, what fascinates me is the fact that one dimensional shape’s can be used to create an illusion that enables it to be seen as a 3 dimensional. In life there will be a lot of simple lines, yet when unite them all together, you are able to experience the bigger picture. An image that can mean nothing, or everything depending on the perspective.
I chose this image, because we had to select an image that represented our happiness, the specific thing that lightens up my day every single time is art. Art is such a general thing, there's endless possibilities, thats why I looked into perspective art, and came across this image, I instantly was in love with the image and chose it.
In this art piece I tried to incorporate different sides, as a result I drew it with the front view, that enables you to see all the side view’s as well.
I chose several light pastel blues, and greens to come across as a very fresh and calm piece, the only vivid colors I chose were, well was the orange, triangles to pop out and show contrast.
In math class we were currently learning about slope which is M or the change of y over the change of x, which incorporates with our art piece because the assignment was to find 20 lines on our piece and calculate the slope.
Project Inspiration
we designed a composition representing what makes you happy, what you look like when you are happy, or your happy place. we learned about one, two, and three point perspective and how to graph this composition onto graph paper.we aswell learned how to graph these lines onto a piece of matte board using the equation of a line, in math class, as well as the different points and angles needed to be stitched onto the board, in order to complete your drawing. This is a collaborative math and art project that will explore all the wonderful details of your happiness through your perspective.

I created this art piece because I wanted to combine three different artist that had something in common, their nationality or where they where from, I ended selecting El Greco, Salvador Dali, and Francisco Goya they are all from Spain. Even though, they all lived in Spain, they were in different time periods they were completely distinct. In addition, their art work was very different and they focused on different areas. For example, Fransisco Goya period was romanticism, while Dali’s periods were Surrealism, Cubism, Modern art, and Dada. It was a challenge to collaborate all their styles together and add a little bit of mine in the piece. The inspiration really came through when I began observing the different paintings or compositions of each distinct artist; and I began to gather different pieces or qualities that their paintings had. At the end I just wanted to incorparte what my perspective was on them. I was satisfied with my work. In conclusion, this last semester I just wanted to create something that I would be passionate about it till the end. Something that I would not get tired of, and that it truly inspired me. In my art piece, I tried to incorporate Dali’s clocks which are one of his most known art pieces. The nude women is meant to embody the technique or style of El greco, who would use long pale muscular representations of human bodies which was very dramatic. The donkey is a print that Fransico Goya made in “Los Caprichos”.The waterfall was to add my favorite kind of landscape,to copy the same inspiration as El Greco. He would paint his favorite landscapes in his own kind of manner.
