LIDIA VAZQUEZ
Scratch Mini-Project
"ThankYou ,Engineers!"
Project Description
This project teaches us how to be able to learn how to program and design our own video game to brake the ice to the next project, were we use code to program our Arduino boards.
What I Learned
In this project I learned the diffrenet kinds of enginneers and there specialities aswell as a new form to express and share this information and be able to teach younger kids. Witch was througth a video game this touaght us to use scratch wich is a programing program that is a little more simple then regular code for us to began to get an idea of how to program acrtul code . This project aswell anabled to help me work better as pairs ,and learn how to manage my time. This was a very difficult subject to grasp for me so my partner and I wernt able to stand out or actally finish compishion in our game, I am not that proud of my final product, this helped me to wake up and give it my all in the following project.
Cardboard Calavera
Project
Project Overview: DÃa de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a day to celebrate the lives of those we’ve lost. Typically, we honor the deceased by creating masks, sugar skulls, papel picado, and skeleton puppets. This year, we are going to take it a step further. We will use our artistic expression, as well as our knowledge of engineering and computer programming skills to welcome back the spirits of our loved ones by creating colorful, interactive, and animated Cardboard Calaveras. These Cardboard Calaveras will be displayed at our school-wide exploratory exhibition on Thursday, October 30th.
(Mrs. Crump)
Essential Questions:
· How can we honor the spirits of our loved ones who have passed on by creating interactive, animated Cardboard Calaveras? To represent the fun and creativity they used to once hold, aswell to cultivate the spirit and memories we onced shericshed so lovengly.
· How do we translate our artistic expression into a 3D model? We come up with a visiobn of what we want to acomplish and then with the modivation and rigth tools we get from Mrs. Crump we are able to created our ideas
· How do we use engineering and computer programming to entertain people? Bye creating something that is not reall like a fantasy or a dream and we make it possible we make it really/
Project Goals:
· Understand electrical circuits and components.
· Translate our artistic expression into a 3D model.
· Practice physical computing using LEGO Mindstorms and Arduino microcontrollers.
· Create interactive Cardboard Calaveras to entertain our exhibition audience.
