Origomi

Project Description

this project teached us about the art of origami at the same time we also learned about geometry about the surface area and the volume of a 3d shape.The steps we took to complete this project were to,first we watched a movie of the art of origami, and took notes about the movie.Second ,we got a partner, after that we and are partner got to decide wich shape we made a teterhiedron which was the challenge or a cube.after we started by seining a youtube video that should us the steps .after we finished our draft of our 3d shape we,continued on to our second draft. After that we learned how to calculate the surface area and the volume of our shape. after we wrote how we found out our volume and surface area on a note card and shown our work we were finished.

What I Learned During This Project

What, makes origami unique is the fact that when you make origami you can not use glue or scissors just paper folding. The two most important things I learned were, surface area and, volume. The formula for a tetrahedron of surface area is ( length.width/2.# of faces)and the formula for volume is(area of base.height/3). The surface area is all the areas of the faces add up together in a 3d shape. The volume is whats in side like how many water can fit inside a 3d shape. The difference between a cube and a tetrahedron is that a tetrahedron is made up of 4 triangles and a cube is made up of 6 squares.

What Challenges I Faced During This Project

the most challenging part of this project for me was when I tried try to connect the teterhiedran because it was very difficult. I overcame this challenge by being real patent  the help of my partner.overall I loved and endure this project.it was a perfect relaxing small little end of the year project.
